Red Bull were unexpectedly named the 2026 engine benchmark at the first ADUO checkpoint, which means they do not get an upgrade opportunity while rivals do. "We are still exchanging data with the FIA. It's progressing, in the way that we have had a chance to exchange a bit more compared to last time in terms of methodologies and potential discrepancies," team principal Laurent Mekies said. He confirmed a follow up meeting to look at the same data together. ADUO is the FIA's mechanism to let lagging engine makers catch up. Red Bull, brand new to building power units, being called the benchmark surprised the paddock. Lewis Hamilton said he was surprised too, and Damon Hill suggested there may be gamesmanship at play. πΈπ° via Planet F1 #F1 #RedBull #FIA
